London, 27 January 2012 – Global property and construction consultancy Davis Langdon, an AECOM company, today announced the appointment of Steve Waltho as Managing Director for Europe. Waltho joined Davis Langdon in 1996 and in 2008 he was appointed to lead Davis Langdon’s newly formed infrastructure practice. This team has doubled in size under Steve’s leadership.
During this time, Davis Langdon’s infrastructure team was appointed to produce the cost and risk model for HS2, validate the cost and the associated schedule for the entire programme of works on Abu Dhabi International Airport, cost manage Aero Engine Controls’ new Birmingham headquarters, and act as procurement and supply chain advisor on Crossrail, in addition to winning appointments on a variety of projects in the transport, industrial and energy sectors across Europe.
“Davis Langdon has some of the very best cost, program and consultancy professionals in the industry. Add to that AECOM’s world-class engineers, designers, planners and economists, and we have an incredibly powerful offer for clients across the UK and Europe,” Waltho commented. “I am delighted to have the opportunity to lead the growth of Davis Langdon’s business in Europe while continuing to increase our share of the UK market.”
“Steve brings a wealth of experience to the role, and his vast knowledge of the infrastructure sector will ensure we build on the success we have already achieved in the UK and across Europe, especially in the rapidly developing markets of Turkey, Romania, Poland and Russia,” said Steve Morriss, AECOM’s Chief Executive for Europe. “I’m looking forward to working closely with him to help us deliver the unique multi-disciplinary offering that AECOM is able to offer our clients.”
