Escalation in the construction cost for healthcare projects has become a significant problem in California. To assess the reasons for the dramatic increases in cost for healthcare projects, the California Hospital Association commissioned Davis Langdon’s research group to document the extent of the rise in construction costs, as well as to identify, where possible, the primary drivers. The results from the study (which were posted on the California Hospital Association’s website) have been widely cited.
