Davis Langdon was a key member of the David Chipperfield Architects and Kumin Associates, Inc. design team, and provided construction cost consulting services on the Anchorage Museum Expansion project which received a “2010 Honor Award” from the AIA Alaska Chapter. The Anchorage Museum Expansion project includes an 80,000 square foot new building for galleries and visitor services, minor renovation of the existing 93,000 square foot museum, and development of a two-acre public plaza. Davis Langdon has a specialty in cultural facilities, working with international-renowned architects on museums of history, fine arts, contemporary art, and archeology, as well as memorials, libraries, and performing arts centers. Martin Gordon, Director, and Jenny Young, Senior Associate, lead our cultural division, and provided ongoing and interactive cost consulting services on this project from inception through construction documents. This was achieved by balancing budget (fund), scope (quantity) and owner’s expectations (quality).
