The Beirut Central District (BCD) was ravaged by the war that engulfed Lebanon between 1975 and 1990.

The reconstruction and development of the war-torn BCD affects a surface area of 1.6 million sqm that includes the most eminent public squares and avenues in what traditionally have been prime areas of the city such as the Martyr’s Square, the Parliament building at the Place de L’Etoile, the Serail, and the old traditional Souks of Beirut.

The Project comprises the reconstruction of 4.4 million m² of built-up area that includes a wide variety of activities parcelled as financial and office development, with new commercial centres, hotels, public parks, recreational areas and pedestrian areas and all with a superb view of the Mediterranean Sea and of Lebanon’s Mountains.

The reconstruction plan also includes the rebuilding of all infrastructure, roads, utilities, public spaces and marine works.
