Whilst construction times have been growing shorter because of improved
technology and greater efficiency, the connections industry has failed to keep pace. Delays are not just a problem for property developers. They have wider economic impacts such as delaying the speed at which new retail businesses can open their doors or slowing the supply of new homes to the market. Whilst the main concern revolves around delays in getting connected, the cost and complexity of the connection process are contributory issues.
